[Q] Did you ever teach lighting in film schools?

No, I never did for simple reasons, it's that... I have been asked several times, in particular when I had been invited to Israel, that was the most blatant example. I had been invited to Israel precisely to speak in two schools. There was a private school in Tel-Aviv and then the official school in Jerusalem. So I had to... So it was planned that in both schools, I was supposed to give a short talk which would last an hour, an hour and a half, and then afterwards I was suppose to deal with the practical side. And every time, when they heard the way in which I spoke about lighting, they no longer had time for the practical side. And it was the same in France, when I did a few things at the Idhec. First of all, when for example, you do things at the Idhec... There was a point when there was... I didn't do anything at the Femis. But I gave a few talks at the Idhec. It's always... there's always a student who's the film director one day and the next day it's another one. The kids are fascinated by what they have to do. They don't give a damn about what we're telling them. You see for the lighting you need the shadows to be there... No, that they really don't care about. So to a certain extent, I don't find it very productive.
