[Q] And what does 'Hoa Binh' mean in Vietnamese?
Hoa Binh means peace.
[Q] So why 'Hoa Binh'?
Well, that's part of the things, it's like... Do you think that Bridge over the Kwai River brings in the viewers? This was the opposite. It was... You really shouldn't speak about kids, it's very bad. You shouldn't talk about war, but it would still be good to find a title in which... So La colonne de Cendres? No, that doesn't work at all, it's too... We don't know what it is. But it should communicate the fact that it was filmed in Asia and all that. So that's why, the discussions... the discussions were along the same lines as the ones about the fact that there can't be sex nor violence in a Gérard de Villiers film. So in the end I said, 'So listen, it's simple, we'll call it Hoa Binh, it means peace, that way we won't be talking about war'.
[Q] Et 'Hoa Binh' en vietnamien signifie quoi?
Hoa Binh, ça veut dire la paix.
[Q] Alors pourquoi 'Hoa Binh'?
Vous pensez que The bridge over the Kwai river ça va faire venir le spectateur?
